#RiverContest, the new Instagramers Gallery contest

#RiverContest, the new Instagramers Gallery contest   Because of the Tras los pasos de Inge Morath. Miradas sobre el Danubio expo at Espacio Fundación Telefónica, we’re launching a new Instagram contest! Inge Morath was the first female photographer at the Magnum Agency and thanks to her the presence of women in the world of photography increased significantly. During the summer of 2014, eight photographers followed the route Morath made along the Danube during various times of her life. The eight photographers, awarded with the prestigious Inge Morath Award, wanted to pay homage and expand her legacy with a production of new visual imagery. Eight new looks created new meanings to the past and present of the Danube region. These photographers are: Olivia Arthur, Lurdes R. Basoli, Claire Martin, Emily Schiffer, Kathryn Cook, Jessica Dimmock, Claudia Guadarrama and Ami Vitale. . Following the line and the vision of this exhibition, a photographic stroll along the Danube River, we’re looking for images of rivers, creeks, streams; photos of river landscapes and everything that happens in and around their banks and beds, and snapshots of travels related to this theme. In order to participate, tag your picture on Instagram with #RiverContest from June 6th until June 26th. The best 50 pictures will be exhibited at Instagramers Gallery from July 12th, printed by our partner Picglaze.   See you at the @igersgallery!!     You can fin all contest rules here        ...

#ParisInMotion – Look again at Paris

#ParisInMotion – Look again at Paris

It hasn’t been easy months for Paris. In the wake of a difficult six months, people have been understandably cautious to visit the french capital. But Paris is an extraordinary city; one that will always champion love and beauty over fear. A city that has changed in the last six months, but remains as unique and captivating as it ever was.   #ParisInMotion With this premise, the Marriott International hotels proposed to instagramers, along with other guests, portraying the city in a way never seen before, looking to capture THAT first thing that you fell in love with Paris. From France Sébastien Pelegrin (@seb_gordon), member of the of France instagramers community and representing the international Instagramers account, Gastón Oliva (@gastonoliva) that helps with instagramers.com internationally. Both had the mission to portray the daily life of Paris, but from another perspective: using cinemagraphs.   Cinemagraphs Cinemagraphs are striking digital images, part moving; part static that were pioneered in 2011 by NYC photographers Jamie Beck & Kevin Burg, and enabled on Facebook last year. These ‘living photos’ prompt fascination in viewers and generate up to 71% more online reach than conventional pictures. Each quasi-moving image evokes a feeling of being both within the picture, and remaining distant. The same feeling you get when visiting a place at once familiar and strange – like Paris. Revealing the beauty and grace of Paris through a completely new lens will cause people to reconsider how unique it is. We hope our amazing collection of digital art will inspire them to visit the city for real.   Cinemagraph by Sébastien Pélegrin   Cinemagraph by Gastón Oliva   Cinemagraph by Sébastien Pélegrin   Cinemagraph by Gastón Oliva  ...

UpsideDownMeet in Buenos Aires, Argentina starts next week

UpsideDownMeet in Buenos Aires, Argentina starts next week

Next week Instagramers.com and Instagramers Buenos Aires (@igersbsas) will take part in the upsidedown meet that will take place in Buenos Aires, Argentina.   The #upsidedownmeet is a photographic project by our friend Meritxell @mevisualartist on Instagram.   Meritxell is from Barcelona but lived in Argentina for more than ten years now. Meritxell felt her world was upside-down from the really beginning: having Christmas in the summer and celebrating her birthday in August in the winter time. Due to this fact, she began the Upside-down photography series, consisting on self-portraits in landscapes that are not her own. Thanks to Instagram she was able to spread her art, inviting her friends to be upside-down with her in a big journey. Because she wants to turn around your reality and, at the same time, open a dialogue between the immigrant and emigrant fluxes nowadays, in the 21st century.   And that is what the Upside-down-meet is all about: to get all upside-down from the North Hemisphere to the South and take part of an exhibition with this subject: north/south, immigrant/emigrant.   The selected artist will participate in the exhibition we are putting together with a piece of artwork around the main theme of the Instameet: “North/South. Inmigration/emigration” at CCEBA (Spanish Arts Center) where all instagramers are invited to the opening ceremony on march 10th, 19h.   The idea behind this event is to show and promote Buenos Aires as a cultural destination and also to promote the art exchange between a selected group of artists  by doing a visual arts exhibition. Attendees will be part of the #Upsidedownmeet, with four days of cultural and photographic activities,...
How to Add, Manage & Switch multiple accounts on Instagram

How to Add, Manage & Switch multiple accounts on Instagram

Instagram has released one of its most requested features: Multi Account Management. Whether you’re a power user or a social media manager this has been a time-consuming task up until now. Since the 7.15 release for iOS and Android, Instagram incorporates the ability to add and switch between multiple accounts. Here’s a quick how to guide. Adding and switching between multiple accounts From now on, you can manage up to 5 Instagram accounts without having to login/out to switch between each of them. To add an account, head over to your profile page, click the settings cog in the top right corner and look for the Add Account option: From here you’ll be taken to a login screen to connect another account. Once you have multiple accounts logged, you can switch between them by tapping on your username at the top of your profile screen and then tapping on the account you’d like to manage: You can also switch between accounts by holding over the profile icon in the bottom right of the screen from anywhere within the app. Once you hold down the profile image, you’ll then see a list of your logged accounts, and from here you can choose which account you’d like to manage: Instagram will show the profile photo of the account you’re managing throughout the app to make it easier to see which account you’re active on at all times. Push notifications If you’ve added multiple Instagram accounts, you may get push notifications from any account that has them turned on. This depends on when you last logged in and the number of devices that are logged in to an account. So mind that if you have multiple accounts logged...
