UpsideDownMeet in Buenos Aires, Argentina starts next week

Next week Instagramers.com and Instagramers Buenos Aires (@igersbsas) will take part in the upsidedown meet that will take place in Buenos Aires, Argentina.   The #upsidedownmeet is a photographic project by our friend Meritxell @mevisualartist on Instagram.   Meritxell is from Barcelona but lived in Argentina for more than ten years now. Meritxell felt her world was upside-down from the really beginning: having Christmas in the summer and celebrating her birthday in August in the winter time. Due to this fact, she began the Upside-down photography series, consisting on self-portraits in landscapes that are not her own. Thanks to Instagram she was able to spread her art, inviting her friends to be upside-down with her in a big journey. Because she wants to turn around your reality and, at the same time, open a dialogue between the immigrant and emigrant fluxes nowadays, in the 21st century.   And that is what the Upside-down-meet is all about: to get all upside-down from the North Hemisphere to the South and take part of an exhibition with this subject: north/south, immigrant/emigrant.   The selected artist will participate in the exhibition we are putting together with a piece of artwork around the main theme of the Instameet: “North/South. Inmigration/emigration” at CCEBA (Spanish Arts Center) where all instagramers are invited to the opening ceremony on march 10th, 19h.   The idea behind this event is to show and promote Buenos Aires as a cultural destination and also to promote the art exchange between a selected group of artists  by doing a visual arts exhibition. Attendees will be part of the #Upsidedownmeet, with four days of cultural and photographic activities,...
How to Add, Manage & Switch multiple accounts on Instagram

How to Add, Manage & Switch multiple accounts on Instagram

Instagram has released one of its most requested features: Multi Account Management. Whether you’re a power user or a social media manager this has been a time-consuming task up until now. Since the 7.15 release for iOS and Android, Instagram incorporates the ability to add and switch between multiple accounts. Here’s a quick how to guide. Adding and switching between multiple accounts From now on, you can manage up to 5 Instagram accounts without having to login/out to switch between each of them. To add an account, head over to your profile page, click the settings cog in the top right corner and look for the Add Account option: From here you’ll be taken to a login screen to connect another account. Once you have multiple accounts logged, you can switch between them by tapping on your username at the top of your profile screen and then tapping on the account you’d like to manage: You can also switch between accounts by holding over the profile icon in the bottom right of the screen from anywhere within the app. Once you hold down the profile image, you’ll then see a list of your logged accounts, and from here you can choose which account you’d like to manage: Instagram will show the profile photo of the account you’re managing throughout the app to make it easier to see which account you’re active on at all times. Push notifications If you’ve added multiple Instagram accounts, you may get push notifications from any account that has them turned on. This depends on when you last logged in and the number of devices that are logged in to an account. So mind that if you have multiple accounts logged...
Instagramers share behind the scenes views of the French-speaking Swiss Television

Instagramers share behind the scenes views of the French-speaking Swiss Television

On January 26th, Margaux and Matthieu, in charge of the digital public relations of the French-speaking Swiss Television (Radio Télévision Suisse or RTS @radiotelevisionsuisse) invited the main French-speaking IGers teams of Switzerland (namely @IGersGeneva and @IGersLausanne) along with @IGersSwiss to enjoy an exclusive behind the scenes visit of the Geneva based broadcasting studios and offices. We were lucky enough to allow several of our followers to be invited as well, so every team selected two or three random winners. During the more than three hours visit, our guide Christianne showed us the most important recording studios (sports, news, entertainment, etc.), plus some newsrooms and technical rooms, including secret locations such as “le Couloir de la Brévine” (sorry, you must be a local to understand the joke…). We enjoyed listening to Massimo Lorenzi, responsible for the sports programs as he explained us the challenges he faces every day. We also met Darius Rochebin @darius_rochebin, the main presenter of the evening news (#19h30), who was kind enough to take a “selfie” with us and publish it on his own gallery. (group photo featured on this post too!) And finally we met Philippe Jeanneret “the weather man” for an interesting talk, letting us have fun playing the “weather man” with the chroma key (green background). Finally everyone enjoyed a well deserved refreshing collation on the very top of the tower building with an amazing view on the city by night. Most of the pictures taken during this visit can be seen by browsing the hashtag #RTSCoulisses on Instagram. @IGersSwiss, @IGersGeneva, @IGersLausanne and all participants (@26ofjune.px, @christellexu, @embgab_,  @jeremyspierer, @jika2001, @jujubou, @kama_1969, @karbonkid,  @lisa_frisco_photography, @thenmh, @tizzia, @zellersamuel) would like...
#ArchiLightning, the new Instagramers Gallery contest

#ArchiLightning, the new Instagramers Gallery contest

#ArchiLightning, the new Instagramers Gallery contest   On March 16th, Espacio Fundación Telefónica, will launch the exhibition PABLO VALBUENA. KINEMATOPE. Pablo Valbuena studied architecture and worked for various game studios, film and architecture in the Netherlands, Canada and the United States and Spain , where he investigated spatial concepts applied to virtual environments and digital architecture. Currently, Pablo is developing a specific project for Espacio Fundación Telefónica, using media such as light and sound transforming the building in a space where the observer will be transported through light and sound to a virtual space-time, while maintaining links with the real environment. This is going to be a very promising project, so we decided it that it would be a great idea to organize a new photo contest on Instagram. This time we are looking for photos inspired by architecture and light(ning). Look around you, see the beauty in the buildings, construction, the lights on the street, in the shopping windows, on houses, on buildings and also bright city lights at night. Upload to Instagram your best pictures with the hashtag #ArchiLightning. Show us the artist inside you and do not miss this opportunity. You can participate until February 28th. The best pictures will be exhibited at Instagramers Gallery from mid March on, printed by our partner Picglaze.   See you at the @igersgallery!!         Terms & conditions DEFINITIONS1. Transform any Instagram photo into ASCII Art

Transform any Instagram photo into ASCII Art

A few days ago one internet user shared in his Twitter account something really cool. For some reason, Instagram/Facebook‘s public photos, can be “translated” into ASCII code simply adding an extension to them. The reason? Although there isn’t any official announcement, could be some new product/service that Facebook have under their sleeves or… it’s just some developers having fun 🙂 Anyway, it’s a cool trick for give our photos some new perspective. So. How it’s done? First of all, it must be done from a browser (Safari in this example) and you need to know your picture URL. This could be done inspecting your photo and opening it in a new tab.       From there you just need to append the extension to the image URL as follows: append “.txt” for classic ASCII art or append “.html” for colored ASCII art The result is an artistic version of our photos in ASCII code:   UPDATE: There’s an app for that. Well, sort of. In this site you can just paste the Instagram URL for your picture (from instagram.com), select the ASCII style and press MAGIC: http://thought.ai/ascii/ Enjoy and share! Salento UPNDOWN: an Instagram tour describing Salento

Salento UPNDOWN: an Instagram tour describing Salento

Salento UPNDOWN: an Instagram tour describing Salento   By : Milena Calogiuri and Gabriele dell’Anna from Instagramers Lecce @igersLecce, Italy   Salento Upndown stems from a partnership between Instragramers Lecce and the e-government Laboratory of the University of Salento. The bond consists in promoting the local territory via mobile photography, with the photographic and personal storytelling of the influencers who have been invited to participate. The project developed into a tour which aimed at discovering Salento in an “up and down” mode. From May 29 to June 3, 2015 a bus, 24 participants, Instagramers and bloggers –among them 5 foreigners- experienced a variety of programmes and activities, namely guided tours in the historic town-centres and on the seaside, in tiny historic villages, museums, dancing pizzica, wine tastings, boat trips and excursions, sup lessons, brunches, appetizers in the wonderful locations near the sea and in the Salento olive groves. The hinterland like nobody has ever seen it: history and technology merged together enhancing the culture and local traditions. The ribbon cutting event took place in the city of Lecce where, following introductions, influencers were involved in art and food shows, prize-awarding ceremonies, and university-hosted functions. Day one kicked off with an energetic pasticciotto which provided the right amount of energy to formally start this adventurous Instagram Tour. The tour continued across Salento to Gallipoli, Matino, Santa Maria di Leuca, Lido Sabbioso – Torre San Giovanni, Tuglie, Felline, Otranto, Torre Lapillo, Veglie. The hashtag #SalentoUpNdown accounted for 1.427 posts, 500.000 likes, more than 2.500 interactions and almost 3.000.000 followers updated to June, 30th going viral and characterizing the whole territory of...
