Spam on Instagram. Many accounts hacked last weekend

.

Unfortunately it seems spam is invading our beloved Instagram. What is really happening?

.

Last weekend, Instagramers.com received dozens of user reports of severe spam attacks on account privacy. Even Igers ourselves discovered our account had a pic that we didn’t post promoting a campaign (see right).

.

Huge increase of spam on Instagram recently

.

“Guerrilla Marketing” agencies and “Low Cost” advertising Strategies  with no respect for users and attracted by our 100 million audience are abusing our rights. Many accounts from different countries have been hacked and it’s a real worry for Instagramers. It is not only annoying, it means our accounts’ privacy could be violated at any time.

.

Pd. The campaign promotes a dubious-looking offer for an on-line site and we hope Instagram will soon get rid of this kind of hackers. Please report any problems to Instagram HelpDesk.

Last Tasks focused on Reducing comment spam according Instagram Team:

.
We introduced changes to comments in order to reduce spam on Instagram. There are so many great conversations that take place in the comment feeds on photos, and we want to make sure those conversations aren’t interrupted by spammy comments. Now, when you post the same comment on multiple photos, including emoji, you will receive a pop-up warning prompting you to learn more or delete your comment. We’re also filtering for certain words and phrases. We hope these changes encourage more genuine interactions between users. More info here.
