This week , we feature an Instagramer who loves Hipstamatic. I love Hipstamatic. It´s a so cool “vintage style camera” that gives so many possibilities and so surprising effects.

Gavin Hayes is 40 and he has two beautiful daughters of 1 and 4 years old. Fortunately, he has a loving and supportive wife and lives in New Plymouth, Taranaki New Plymouth in New Zealand.  He is a chef and he owns his own catering business.

“Food, wine and photography is what moves me!”

He is a chef but he doesn’t take too many photos of food. Lol. For him, photography is a release from work.  He doesn’t have too much opportunity to get out and shoot but when he does, it’s usually him, his daughter and their dog. The beach is where they like to go most and you will see plenty of pics from this stunning places.

Like me, Gavin loves how Hipstamatic works at the beach.  “There is something special about the way it captures the light and mood so well” he says.  He loves all the #BW “Black and White” films and also the John S, Watts and Lucifer lens.

“Mobile photography to me is most definitely an art form and I have been fortunate enough to discover some very talented people on Instagram and have learnt a lot from them”.

.

About Instameets, he answered us that as far as he knows there hasn’t been one Instameet “near” where he lives. Wellington (at 4 hour drive way from his place) is the nearest that he heard about some Instagramers Meet-up. “I like the idea and would most likely join in if there was one nearer to me. Having said that, I only follow 3-4 local people so I don’t imagine we’d get a big turn out!”  Lol. New Zealand is a great place to take pics however!

He admits, he never really takes to many photos before getting an iphone and discovering Instagram.  His mum was a great photographer so he was often looking at photos with her. “Hopefully some of her talent wore off on me”.

Hipstamatic, Snapseed and Noir are his favourite apps. You can check his stream here @gavhayes
