Instagramers East Bay Bart Photoride Recap
Fifty avid Instagramers from around Northern California (plus one visitor from far-away Minnesota) gathered on January 8 for a photo ride on the rails of Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART), making it the largest gathering so far for an IGers East Bay event! The adventure started at the West Oakland BART station and included stops at the 12th Street Oakland City/Center, MacArthur and Ashby stations before concluding at the Downtown Berkeley stop. The event was conducted with the assistance of the Interactive Services Department of BART, who will be featuring some of the photos from the photo ride on their website.
Participants captured the many sights that train travel has to offer, including station architecture, candids of riders, the views from train cars and the trains themselves. Instagramers also took many fun photos of each other doing what they do best – snapping iPhone pics and enjoying the camaraderie that comes along with sharing a passion.
After exiting at the downtown Berkeley station, the group gathered at Jupiter, a local restaurant and brewpub, for lunch and chance to socialize. The IG group was so large it took up almost the entire interior of the restaurant! After lunch, many IGers continued on to a local bakery for more socializing and photo app tip sharing.
The photo ride was an excellent kick off to 2012, which promises to be an amazing year for Instagram and IGers East Bay!
