Instagramers Gdansk SM Convent Social Media Superstar

The first edition of the national conference Social Media Convent took place in Gdansk, Poland. During Case Study Festival contest IgersGdansk became “Social Media Superstar”.

Social Media Convent is a nationwide event for professionals engaged in social media communication. During event speakers presented the trends in social media in 2013. The event was held at the conference center of Gdańsk Business Incubator STARTER. The conference was attended by over 150 people.

In the Case Study Festival contest jury evaluated the 7 campaigns such as: Tesco Experts conquer the Facebook, Small is big: Volkswagen, IgersGdansk or Kapitan Niepalny.

Each speaker had 8 minutes to present own project. IgersGdansk presentation:

The jury awarded three social media campaigns. IgersGdansk (Instagramers Gdansk, Sopot, Gdynia and Pomorskie Region) received special award for building a strong community on Instagram in Poland and for showing new trends in social media communication. 

IgersGdansk also created Storify story #SMconvent Social Media Convent in Gdansk – photos from Gdansk conference published on Instagram.

With almost 1500 followers IgersGdansk is the largest and the most active Instagramers community in Poland. The group was founded by Jaroslaw Marciuk in 2011 and it was the first local community in Poland.

Jaroslaw Marciuk was also the organizer of the first Worldwide Instameet in Poland. The meeting took place in Gdansk on July 26, 2012. (watch youtube)

There are four local Instagramers groups in Poland today (IgersGdansk, IgersWarsaw, IgersTorun, Igers_Szczecin). We also have IgersPoland community.

My aim is to promote Instagram and Instagramers in Poland -Jaroslaw Marciuk says. “If someone wants to set up a new community in Poland is asked to contact me. I will share my experience and knowledge with new ManIgers.
