Ads on Instagram coming soon.

.

Yesterday we published an article “10 ways to successfully use Instagram for your personal brand and business” and today Instagram announces that users in the U.S will soon start to see video and image ads on their feeds. It was highly expectable as these last few weeks constant rumors appeared on blogs and websites.

A few days before their third anniversary celebration, Instagram said on its blog that ads will start appearing over the next couple of months and will come “from brands we don’t follow”.

They say that this will ‘start slow’. “We’ll focus on delivering a small number of beautiful, high-quality photos and videos from a handful of brands that are already great members of the Instagram community. “

ads on instagramInstagram is growing fastly and it needs to be sustainable

.

Instagram want’s to turn it”s company into a sustainable business and this is more than understandable. As users, we have been enjoying Instagram for free during three years now without any cost or monthly fee.

“In the next couple months, you may begin seeing an occasional ad in your Instagram feed if you’re in the United States. Seeing photos and videos from brands you don’t follow will be new, so we’ll start slow” informs the company and adds that “they will focus on delivering a small number of beautiful, high-quality photos and videos from a handful of brands that are already great members of the Instagram community”.

.

There are tons of brands doing a great job on Instagram and big brands will probably be very interested by this new opportunity through pictures and videos.

.

¿Ads or not? You will have the choice.

.

Instagram is conscious of the importance of this new step and the reaction this major announcement could provoke, but the team has learned from the past and it will allow users to decide the ads they want to see.

“If you see an ad you don’t like, you’ll be able to hide it and provide feedback about what didn’t feel right” says the post.

Instagram doesn´t want to front a new wave of social unrest and “will be listening to its community to integrate this new “factor” on the social network”, company says.
